Producer Soulframe Liang announced Phantom Blade Zero's release date has moved from September 9 to October 29, 2026. Below is Liang's full statement:
---
"First, I want to sincerely apologize to all players following us! This was not an easy decision. The more expectations we carry, the less we want players to receive a Phantom Blade Zero that could have taken one more step forward.
Looking back, the development of Phantom Blade Zero has been a breathtaking evolution — from our 2023 reveal, to the 2024 hands-on demos, to 2025's Seven-Star Sword Formation, Lion Dance, and Drunken Sword. Each year brought a transformation, and we've shared that journey openly.
In recent months, we began streamlining content and focusing on polishing key areas. I realized this game has one more chance to become even better.
First, we've upgraded a batch of character models to the best quality we can deliver.
Second, we've rebuilt many scenes, moving beyond the uniformly dark and gloomy aesthetic. Now Phantom Blade Zero features more open, bright, and vibrant levels, all unified under the 'Wuxia Punk' theme.
50 extra days won't solve everything, but it's enough to complete these clear and important additions. This directly impacts how players experience Phantom Blade Zero for the very first time.
> 'Let the strong do as they will; the gentle breeze still brushes the hills. Let the fierce do as they please; the bright moon still shines on the river.'
This summer, a new trailer with never-before-seen gameplay will accompany the pre-order launch. Later, an exclusive State of Play will deliver 15-20 minutes of deep-dive content."
